Jakarta Arranges Utility Networks on 61 Roads

The integrated utility network facilities (SJUT) development in Jakarta continues to be done in order to improve the quality of pedestrians. It is focused on 61 roads and targeted to be complete in 2021.

Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head Hari Nugroho said, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) and Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya was appointed as operator and executor of these activities.

He detailed, they were responsible for arranging and controlling the utility network on 20 roads in South Jakarta and 9 roads in East Jakarta.

As for the Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya had arranged the utility network on 9 roads in West Jakarta and 23 roads in Central Jakarta.

"They have received an assignment from the governor and an implementation letter to start work (SPMK) from the Bina Marga Agency. This letter includes road sections and how many targets must be completed in two years," he told, Tuesday (12/8).

He explained that the total SJUT work on the 61 roads was 200 kilometers long. Arrangement and control of development and placement of utility networks in an integrated manner thus it is in accordance with the spatial plan for Jakarta area.

"Our target in 2021 is 175 kilometers long, yet this year I predicted 10-15 kilometers last October," he told.

He furthered the task force team had been made to facilitate and streamline the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and coordination for all City Utilities activities in Jakarta.

In implementation in the field, they assigned to monitor and supervise utility networks in terms of placing utility networks, cleanliness and order in implementing utility networks for public safety and comfort.

Moreover they had the authority to take action against agencies/utility network license holders who violate the Gubernatorial Regulation number 106/2019 on Guidelines for Implementing Utility Infrastructure.

"It aims to maintain the level of infrastructure service and meet minimum service standards, including create comfort and safety to the people in their activities and driving," he stated.
